If you use a fan next to the motor and run 49/11 (or 49/12) the ESC doesn't stop/overheat

With the air ducting I did to the body, I don't even need to run fans at 11/45.
If I need to run cooler I can just drop to 12/49.
~ Rob
I have air ducting and a fan next to the motor
So the motor-temp. is round 30°C.

Impressive - and I thought I was doing good keeping it around 50°C.

I have to say, in the hall where the track is, it is not very warm there. ~ 15 ° C.

That would be a little cool for us over here, indoors (during the winter months), being as we're more comfortable at about 21° C.
If it got that cold someone would be raising a fuss.

Re: Steakjunky's LRP FT Shark 18 Race Monster
at the moment, i have no time to race the indoortrack SHAME ON ME
ghost 22 told me already to put a fan nex to the motor so it will help a lot
i think i have one from team checkpoint flying around in my hobby cabinet
i should search it in this chaos, somewhere far in it, the fan waits (gramatical-english-disaster but after 2,5 hours of sleep...... quiet normal ) LOL

Re: Steakjunky's LRP FT Shark 18 Race Monster
I was not saying to not use fans. I was just pointing out that buggy bodies tend to trap a lot of heat under then, and with just a fan all you do is blow around hot air, and that was why I was suggesting cutting proper venting (intake/output ducting) to allow cool air in and hot air out.
Good luck and have fun - and get to the track.

Shark with SC-Chassis is SICK

(Thanks for the photos I'm looking forward to our tests, if any, differences between the carbon and the plastic SC SC.)
lg Ghost 22
Having owned both - it's been my experience that the carbon fiber chassis is too stiff, so while it might be good for running on totally flat surfaces with no jumps (on-road track) that the plastic SC chassis handles better all-around.

Re: Steakjunky's LRP FT Shark 18 Race Monster
I hope we will see the differences soon, if Ghost 22 makes a break with biking LOL
But first i have to put the ESC and servo in it
Even the SC-chassis seems to be very stiff, but even the longer wheelbase makes the handling of the car much easyer.
